Clause C of the Safe Transport of Goods

Continuing an article on insurance of goods transported recently wrote that , I will address other clause – Clause C. This should only be employed in case of land freight transport used. You can also hire this clause for the new merchandise at the expense of the clause , but not advice.

This clause covers loss or damage suffered by the goods due to:

- Fire or Explosion

- Grounding, sinking and lack of stability of the ship (flip)

- Overturning or derailment of the carrier

- Collision of a ship, train or other means of transport with any object other than water.

- Discharge in a port

- Loss or damage arising out of extraordinary situations or sacrifice of the goods for a greater cause. Example: If the boat facing a storm and the captain even decide to throw goods overboard to save the boat and crew.

- Rapture or dumping waves

- Expenses necessary to save the goods due to loss covered by this clause

- If the contract of carriage include a clause of mutual responsibility in case of collision, is also safe
