Your best YOU
How could you possibly perform at your highest level when you take care of everyone/thing else other than you? Invest in yourself! Here are some ways to help:
Take control of your health- Today, after you have settled into more relaxing clothes and have sat for a while, take a stroll over to your refrigerator. Is there fresh produce piled high on the shelves? Is there more liquid (sugary juice and soda pop) than real food? Can you pronounce the ingredients listed on pre-packaged items? Try to incorporate more food that it is ALIVE into your diet.
WALK – Before it becomes frigid outside, take advantage of the crisp autumn air and go for a nice walk. You will be surprised by the results you can get.
LEARN TO SAY NO- You cannot and should not do it all. I know you do not want to disappoint anyone, but by committing to too many activities, you can become burned put sooner than you think. Always make time for yourself and that means someone will hear the word NO. No doesn’t always mean NEVER, it could very well mean No, not at this time. Try it.
SLEEP- I just need to send one last email, watch my favorite late night host, or chat with a friend… Turn off the television, cell phone and computer and GO TO BED. You need your rest, at least 8 hours of it. The body must restore, heal and rejuvenate. Let your body and mind come to a rest.
